ﾙｰﾄﾌｧｲﾙｼｽﾃﾑはできるだけ小さくした方が良い。その方がﾌｧｲﾙｼｽﾃﾑに 障害が発生した時の復旧が容易。
/boot
Linuxｶｰﾈﾙの起動ｲﾒｰｼﾞはﾃﾞｨｽｸの先頭から1024ｼﾘﾝﾀﾞ(約8GB)以内に収まるようにする。
このため、ﾃﾞｨｽｸの先頭ﾊﾟｰﾃｨｼｮﾝとして10〜50MB程度を/bootﾊﾟｰﾃｨｼｮﾝに割り当てます。
(ｶｰﾈﾙを収めるためには数MBもあれば十分だが、将来ｶｰﾈﾙを再構築したり、複数のｶｰﾈﾙを用意したりで
きるように余裕のある容量を確保した方が良い。)
swap
ｽﾜｯﾌﾟ領域はLinuxの仮想ﾒﾓﾘとして利用される。
(仮想ﾒﾓﾘとは、物理ﾒﾓﾘが不足した場合にﾃﾞｨｽｸの一部を一時的にﾒﾓﾘの延長として使うことができる機
能。)
ｽﾜｯﾌﾟ領域には物理ﾒﾓﾘの1〜2倍のｻｲｽﾞを確保する。つまり物理ﾒﾓﾘが128MB搭載している場合はｽﾜｯﾌﾟ領
域として128〜256MB程度を確保。
/home
一般ﾕｰｻﾞの利用するﾌｧｲﾙが格納される。ﾌｧｲﾙｻｰﾊﾞなど多数のﾕｰｻﾞが利用するｼｽﾃﾑの場合はとりわけ専用
のﾊﾟｰﾃｨｼｮﾝに分割する必要がある。
/homeを別にしておくとﾃﾞｨｽﾄﾘﾋﾞｭｰｼｮﾝを変更したり再ｲﾝｽﾄｰﾙした際、環境を引き継ぐことができる。
/var
ﾛｸﾞﾌｧｲﾙやﾒｰﾙｽﾌﾟｰﾙなど更新頻度の高いﾌｧｲﾙが格納される。syslogなどの生成するﾛｸﾞが大量に発生する
と、ﾌｧｲﾙｼｽﾃﾑの容量を超えてしまう恐れがある。
ﾙｰﾄﾌｧｲﾙに/varがあるとﾛｸﾞがﾙｰﾄﾌｧｲﾙに溢れてしまい、ｼｽﾃﾑ全体に影響を与える。
/varを別ﾊﾟｰﾃｨｼｮﾝにすることによって被害がｼｽﾃﾑ全体に及ぶ危険を減らすことができる。
/usr
ﾕｰｻﾞ専用のﾌﾟﾛｸﾞﾗﾑやﾗｲﾌﾞﾗﾘが置かれる。あとからﾌﾟﾛｸﾞﾗﾑを追加するといったことがなければ、運用中
に容量が増えることは基本的にない。NFSを使ってｺﾏﾝﾄﾞやﾌﾟﾛｸﾞﾗﾑを共有する場合には/usrを読み込み専
用でﾏｳﾝﾄしておくことにより、ｾｷｭﾘﾃｨを高めることが可能。
